Dr Ashish Mehta

Consultant Endocrinologist, Pituitary Specialist, Bone/Calcium Specialist and Transplant Endocrine Physician.

BMed, MD, FRACP

Dr Ashish Mehta is a Consultant Endocrinologist with experience in pituitary, diabetes, obesity, bone and calcium, thyroid, adrenal, transplant and gestational disorders. A lifelong Sydneysider, he graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2014 with Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMed) and Doctor of Medicine (MD). He undertook junior medical training at St George and Sutherland Hospitals, before completing physician training at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. His first year of Endocrinology Advanced Training at Nepean Hospital provided exposure to the busiest diabetes centre in NSW, including Type I diabetes, gestational diabetes and adolescent transition diabetes care. He then spent two years at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney mentored by world-leaders in Endocrinology. He gained invaluable subspecialty experience in bone and calcium and transplant disorders and completed a pituitary fellowship.  

Dr Ashish Mehta was admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as an Endocrinologist in 2021. He has presented at national and international conferences on several occasions throughout the years and has a strong penchant for quality, evidence-based patient care as exhibited by multiple peer-reviewed research publications and ongoing projects including the incorporation of artificial intelligence into medicine. He has co-chaired multidisciplinary meetings with neurosurgeons, radiologists and a multitude of allied health professionals to ensure optimal outcomes are achieved as part of his previous roles. He has a passion for medical education and continues to be involved in teaching medical students and trainees. 

He is proficient and interested in managing all endocrine conditions and his subspecialty experience in pituitary, bone and transplant disorders in particular is of significant advantage in this area. Ashish is caring, kind and determined to work with his patients towards the unified goal improving of and maintaining health. He is also fluent in Hindi and Gujarati.
